National Coffee Day-

Happy National Coffee Day.  Get your cup of coffee and sit down for awhile, because I have a couple of cards to share. I made a mini card and regular sized card. The papers that I used to make my card started as white cardstock that I made monotypes with my gel plate.

This monotype  was made with my gel plate, acrylic paint and ARTplorations Floral Flutes and I stamped with black stazon ink - STAMPlorations Framed Tea Cups

For this card I used two monotypes that I made. I cut one into strips the other one I stamped the cup and sentiment.

I love using monotypes with my STAMPlorations stamps because each one is unique so it makes a one of a kind card. Check out the many

Fishers of men -Bible journal page with monotype strips

The MIX-Ability challenge at SCS is to use rubberbands. I put rubberbands around a bottle and rolled it in paint on my gel plate. The resulting monotype made me think of seaweed. So I knew I wanted to add some fish.

Since I was thinking fish I decided to put it in my bible journal. I could have picked where Jesus fed the multitude with the loves and fishes, but I decided to use it with when Jesus called the disciples. "And I will make you fishers of men."

I cut the rubberband monotype into strips and put them in my bible. I drew some fish on another monotype and fussy cut them out. I added some bubbles with a black ink pen and white gel pen.

Since it was about Fisherman, I decided to draw a fishing hook.

I then decided to draw a fishing net.

RING around the rosie, pocket full of posies...

The SCS Ways to Use it challenge for today was to be inspired by pockets.

The inside of the card has pockets too.

With the tags taken out.

Tag in first pocket

This tag has a part that pulls out. This is what it looks like with the inner most tag pulled out.

This pulls out of the first tag.
It hides a little tea bag

Second pocket tag:
SURPRISE inside this one. I will show later after I give the gift to my friend.

Third tag.

The Pocket Blooms stamp set is currently out of stock but there are lots of really neat stamps, stencils and dies at STAMPlorations.

LOVE ONE ANOTHER

The card I made today was really fun to make. Yesterday I made this mono print. I loved the movement and combination of colors. I love taking white paper and making something unique. That is why I love my gel press plate. I decided to use this print to make a card for the Unity Stamp Co mini challenge. Their challenge is to use a stencil with their stamps.

I decided to use my favorite stencil of all time. ARTplorations BUBBLE DANCE.
preview-web-stencil-073-BubbleDance
I was selective on which parts of the stencil I used. I used a black thin sharpie to make the circles on my mono print.

After I had traced the bubbles that I wanted, I took a white gel pen and added some shading and highlights.

I used the butterfly from Unity HERE TODAY HERE TOMORROW
Sentiment from Unity LET LOVE GROW
Dragonfly from Unity BOLD INSIGHT

I turned this card into an easel card.

What I like about this butterfly and dragonfly is when I fussy cut them out, they are super easy to manipulate to make them look very realistic,

Thoughts and reasons behind my use of   the dragonfly and butterfly with this sentiment
 LOVE ONE ANOTHER...
1. First of all I thought that an orange-rust butterfly and a blue-green dragonfly would look good with this background.
2. Butterflies and dragonflies are both different but they can love each other. Our differences don't determine our ability to love.
3. I just like butterflies and dragonflies. LOL.

paint and die

This week's SCS MIX-Ability challenge is to use paint and dies. I decided to make a mono print. It didn't turn out how I would have liked, but it did have lots of color so I decided to use it anyway.

I love how it turned out with the vibrantly colored mono print. I added some inka gold metallic rub in some of the areas. You can really see it in the corner.

4423 Days

For the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge, SC767 this was the sketch.

I decided to flip it

I thought it would be fun to look back at the first sketch card that I ever made.  Here are some stats about my crafting. It has been 4423 days since I did my first sketch challenge. Which breaks into 12 years 1 month and 9 days. It was sketch #135. A lot of time and learning has gone into my style. I love still learning new techniques and perfecting my art.  For this week's challenge I decided to use 3 of my recent gel prints.

For this gel print I used ARTplorations Peonies All Over Stencil

I cut them into strips and I outlined them with a black marker.

I took another gel print and stamped STAMPlorations Darling Dog Roses with black stazon ink. I painted the roses and then cut a panel that let the roses be "out of box". I then matted it with another print that was mostly orange and rust.

After I water colored the roses, I added some shadows with colored pencils and some highlights with a white gel pen.

I made this into an easel card. I used one of the left over strips to decorate the inside of the easel and use it as a stopper.
