Autumn Blessings

I made a waterfall card with little water colored pumpkins. What I have learned with practice is how to layer the paint to get texture. I have a lot still left to learn but I am excited to share how my painting is at this time. I hope you enjoy the video.

The sentiment on the waterfall card is from STAMPlorations Holiday Expressions- Thankful for Autumn. I believe it may be a retired set. But there are lot of other wonderful stamp sets at STAMPlorations.

Coffee Lover's Blog Hop- STAMPlorations

Time for another Coffee Lover's Blog Hop. If you are looking for a great source for coffee crafting supplies check out STAMPlorations. I have used many of their products to make my projects today.

My first two cards are fancy fold cards. I learned how to make them from Linda Heller HERE.

I used STAMPlorations  Zen Coffee Cup Layering Die

My next 2 projects aren't cards but little coffee tag albums.
For the first coffee tag album I  used the same die that I did for the cards above,  Zen Coffee Cup Layering Die
but only used the simple base to cut out my cups.
I die cut 8 cups of different designer papers. I also cut a piece of white cardstock. 2"x10". I scored and folded the piece of white cardstock every 2 1/2". I then cut little notches on either side of the folds.

Then I glued the die cut cups to the white cardstock mechanism alternating the direction the handles. When I had glued the first 4 cups down, I flipped it over and matched up the handles and glued the second 4 down sandwiching the white cardstock mechanism in the middle.

After I glued the cups down I decorated them.

For this cup I used the die cut part that was left over from the handles of the cups to piece together to make a little heart. I paper pieced the cup from. Sketchy Coffee Cups. I added some little sequins and I added gilding flakes using Aleene's tacky glue and Bubble Dance Stencil

This cup I decorated with the word "coffee" from And Coffee. I wanted the word "with" so I hand drew that one. I embellished with a little triangle shaped rhinestone.

This cup I decorated with a paper pieced cup from Sketchy Coffee Cups and added gilding flakes with Aleene's tacky glue and Bubble Dance Stencil

This cup I decorated with the word "friends" from And Coffee. I added another heart made from the left over handle piece cut by the die.

The second side of the cup album.

This cup was decorated with paper pieced cups from Sketchy Coffee Cups, another die cut scrap heart and gilding flakes added to the top and bottom of the cup.

This cup was decorated with paper pieced cup from All you need is Coffee. Then sentiment is also from that stamp set. I also stamped the little heart from the Sketchy Coffee Cups set, on the cup

For this cup I cut a circle out and stamped the sentiment from All you need is Coffee. I added 12 little sequins and a little heart shaped rhinestone.

The last cup I decorated with the Coffee word die. It was a little wider than the cup so I had to tilt it and add a piece of cardstock under it to give it support and something to glue to.

With the coffee cup album closed up I made a "belly band" with another die cut cup and a piece of cardstock. This is how it looked closed.

My last project for this hop is a little tag album. I cut 10 tags using the tag die from Tag O'Coffee
The cardstock mechanism was a strip of cardstock 3"x10". I scored that every 2 inches and accordion folded it. I sandwiched this mechanism in between the tags. Making it have 5 tags connected and 5 on the backside.  This is how the tag album looked folded up.

Here it is opened up showing the first 5 tags.

The first tag has paper piece cups from Sweet Kindness

This tag has a sentiment from Anywhere There's Coffee

This tag was decorated with a paper piece cup from Sketchy Coffee Cups. I had seen a flourish on a piece of designer paper and I thought it would make a really neat steam pattern. So I sketched freehand a similar flourish for my coffee cup.

Another paper pieced cup using Sketchy Coffee Cups. I also stamped the little heart. I decided I wanted some bling so I used some glue and traced a design on the cup and on the heart with glue and added gilding flakes.

The other side of the tag album.

Nautical bookmark

I made this Bible journaling cascade bookmark using some old Stampin' up designer paper. I love the nautical theme. This was a really fun project to make. Being two sided made it really easy to use. I didn't have to stamp or anything. All I had to do was cut the papers, score them and glue them to the bookmark. This project has a belly band that holds the little flaps down. I die cut 3 circles and fussy cut out the little octopus.

Cased Wedding Card

My mother in law needed me to make a wedding card for two friends of hers who are getting a second chance at love. I went on Pinterest and it took me to THIS BLOG. I knew right away that I wanted to make a card inspired by Karen, who herself said that her card was inspired by others who made simlar cards.  . I used different supplies to get to a similar look. What you can't tell from the photo is the bride puzzle piece is covered with sparkles. I used my nuvo Glamour Glitter Pen to go over the surface. What is also hard to see from the photo is that the white square base is embossed. I made this card into an easel card. I used a white gel pen to write congratulations and the name of the bride and the groom.
My card differs from the inspiration card in that I didn't add buttons on the groom puzzle piece, but I did put a bow tie. a cut piece of black cardstock.  Sometimes you just has to CASE. Copy and Share everything another artist's card. My mother always said "imitation is a sincere form of flattery." She is right.

Pop and twist baby card

Last week for the watercolor Wednesday for SCS. it was how to paint a moon. I made this envelope and pop and twist card for my mother and father in law to give to a friend of theirs who just had a baby boy. I looked at several different images on pinterest but this card was freehand drawn and painted.

STAMPlorations 8th birthday celebration Day 2

It is STAMPlorations' 8th Birthday Celebration. Today is DAY 2 of the celebration.

All the designers featured today will be showing you:
Which includes:

Blossom Sprays #5

See the Good

Design Blox #6

Art Border Die #2

I used Blossom Sprays #5 on kraft and watercolored it. I wrote a handwritten sentiment. This is going to my friend who lost her husband recently.

Recently I joined a weight loss group. I thought it would be fun to use the Blossom Sprays #5 to make encouragement cards. This is how they looked but then I thought they needed just a little something more.... Butterflies.

So I added little wooden butterfly buttons to the cards. They were a big hit. Everyone loved them.

I have been making a lot of postcards lately because they are cheaper to mail.  I made this one using the Blossoms Spray #5 but I also used the border die from the bundle. But I used it in a non traditional way. I put a piece of cardstock over it and used the side of a colored pencil to make an etching. I trimmed it down to make a border on my postcard.

My grandson Noah and I have been telling eachother puns to make the other one smile. I thought he would like this one. I used the design blox #6. I traced it and watercolored orange and blue. I then used colored pencils to doodle over the orange areas.  I then hand wrote the pun. I have decided against sending this to him because when I told him the pun over the phone he got upset and didn't like that it was making fun of his name.   My dad said that 1/2 of puns are PU. I guess he was correct.
