Growing in Unity Day 1- Vintage Birthday Card

Hello. I am honored to have the chance to share with you for Growing in Unity this week.  One of my new passions is making gel prints to use with my stamping. Who needs to buy fancy paper when you can make your own? All my projects this week feature paper I printed using my gel plate.

What I especially liked about this print besides the colors was the white streaks. I exaggerated the white streaks with a white gel pen.

My stamping friend Lee Ann Barrett and I got to meet in real life this summer.

She gave me this stamp:
Notice Moments {lol 8/18}
I used black stazon ink and stamped it on to my paper.

I made a mask out of typing paper.

I stamped an old Unity stamp called:
Classified Newsprint
Newprintstamp

I stamped it randomly. Just to add some interest to the background.

I masked it again and stamped the music score from
Forget the Past {smak 11/16}

I wanted some dimension to the flower so I stamped the flower several times on some scrap cardstock and watercolored them and fussy cut them out. (I stamped 3 but only used 2. One for the bottom layer and the second as the layer on the flower.)

 I used a white gel pen to highlight the numbers on the clock. I glued the first layer of the flower down.

I water colored the leaves and stem of the flower. I added the second layer of the flower and I added gold sand glitter to the center of the flower.

Of course I had to use my favorite Unity stamp.
Here Today, Here Tomorrow.
Here today, Here tomorrow
This was the first Unity stamp I got and probably has seen the most ink of any of my Unity Stamps.
I stamped it 3 times. I water colored them and fussy cut them out. One butterfly I kept whole. The other 2 I just cut the left side out and shaped and layered them to make it look like the butterfly had just landed. I stamped "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" in corner. It came in a grab bag of Unity stamps so I don't know what set it was from. If you know, let me know in the comments. I used the white gel pen to add more highlights on the sentiment.

Because this card had a vintage feel I decided to distress the edges with my scissors. I tilted the panel and place black cardstock behind it.

I decided to put these panels on an easel card base. I used a heart shaped rhinestone as the stopper.

One more thing, I splattered this card with copper paint and added a rhinestone to the hands of the clock.

I hope you enjoyed my project for Day 1. Come back each day this week to see more projects using Unity stamps.
