I started my project for today using pale purple cardstock and
I also cut thin strips out of the pale purple cardstock.
I started by taping the strips to the back of the "frame".
Then I wove the strips to make the trellis for my card.
I had a mono print that I had made using markers and my gel pad. It had an abstract feeling. I thought it would make a good background for behind the trellis. I wanted a little texture so I embossed it with music notes. This photo also shows some of the flowers.
I made these 3-d flowers by stamping some of the flowers from
I colored the flowers and fussy cut them out. I cut a big flower and 2 of the smaller flower for each of the 3-d flowers. It was a lot of stamping coloring, cutting, layering and gluing but I think it was worth it. I also put glitter in the centers of the flowers. Some I did with teal glitter and some I did with purple glitter. Because I watercolored the flowers, no two flowers looked exactly the same. Just like they would in real life.
I added some die cut leaves and made it an easel card.
The butterfly and flower on the inside work as the stoppers for the easel. The sentiment was stamped on a scrap piece of cardsotck. I used the sentiment from
With this really pretty garden, I just knew that it would make a perfect home for my butterfly. (Look for this butterfly to visit all my projects for the Spring Fling.)
