This set is my favorite set this month. I love music and making cards with music, so this set had my name written all over it!! I have 3 samples to show you. On card took 3 hours to make, one took 1 hour and one took 15 mins. (You will have to guess which card is which.)
On my first card. I stamped the background sheet music onto cream dp. I tore around the edges, cut it it into 3 strips and I cut the three strips into four squares. I then ink distressed each square and sewed them to a cream piece of cardstock. I then took a piece of dp with a flower on it and stamped the two little music notes on it. I also stamped the music notes next to the scripture. I added a tea stained doily, ribbon, pearl beads on gold wire, two brown brads and handmade quilled peace roses. This is card for a friend who just started a new job. It is really stressful for her. I am hoping that this card will cheer her up.
For this card I picked a piece of dp that had a design that was at an angle. I masked the top and stamped the sheet music over it. I then stamped the greeting from Daffodil Greetings. I stamped the little music notes by the sentiment as well as along the side. I then added ribbon and the pearl stick pins.
My son said that this next one is his favorite of the three. I was going for a masculine look and I think I achieved that. The top three panels were paint chip samples that someone gave me with a bag of scraps. They were kinda small and I wasn't sure if I would ever use them. I had the striped dp on my desk and they matched pretty close to the paint chips. The paint chips were for a granite paint. They kinda remind me of sand paper. There is a gritty texture, and it has a little sparkle to it.
So did you guess which card was which? The first one took 3 hours the second one 15 mins and the last one 1 hour,
I hope you have enjoyed hopping with us this week.

ReplyDeleteHi Marilyn - that is a lot of hours! The flowers on the first card are time consuming I believe because I have made some in the past and it took me awhile - beautiful cards. This is a great music set! I can see all possibilities. I have enjoyed the hop and looking at all of your lovely projects with the new stamps - thank you for being part of the hop and have a great week! Gail

ReplyDeleteLovely cards; I like the second one the best. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDelete2 great looks. Very pretty roses.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!!! Wow!!! I love them all but I am drawn to the first because I just can't make that kind of card! I don't seem to be able to figure out how to fill up the space and make it fun to look at!!! They are all stunning! I wouldn't have thought that your 2nd one took only 15 minutes!!! It's kind of crazy how long some cards can take to come together, isn't it?!
