1. You can make plans and then have them completely fall apart. (I had planned to go with my oldest daughter to help her move in at college. That plan fell apart, when I had too much work that had to be done today. Of all days why did all the work fall on this one?)
2. There are only so many tears you can cry. (It wasn't until about 6pm that I was able to think about my daughter without crying.)
3. I have a lot of friends who are helping me through this sadness.(One of the reasons, I love having friends and sisters in Christ, who are older than me. They have been there before and can encourage me.)
4. And not really a new lesson, but a reminder, that God is with me no matter what

My card is very CAS, not my usual style. I stamped the words "Teach" "Learn" and the "2+2+4 ABC" with black stazon. I stamped the apple with black stazon too. I then watercolored the apple. I used an embossing folder that my daughter bought me last Christmas. I thought that the notebook embossing went perfect with the school theme. Then I just added a red and black layer. I have so many teacher friends, I am not sure which one I am going to give this card to, but I am sure I will figure that out.
MariLynn--this is a wonderful card. And thank you for sharing your lessons learned. TFS
ReplyDeleteYou will get through it - my niece is in her 4th year now and her Mum still gets anxious. However they are both doing OK and Lauren is starting out on the teaching course in a few weeks. Your simple card is lovely.
ReplyDeleteWonderful folder for your school CAS, MariLynn! Sorry you went through all that "mother" crying...touch when they fly the coup!!! Prayers for both of you!

cute card
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card and thanks for sharing all your video's and your lesson learned...
ReplyDeleteThe embossing folder works wonderfully with the school theme. My daughter heads back to college to start her junior yr. We helped her move into her apt before her sophomoe yr and she goes back on her own. She will be home for Thanksgiving break & Winter/Christmas break in which her 21st birthday is.

MariLynn,
ReplyDeleteI love your card - and the EF is so very perfect for your cute card. I have not seen this one before!! TFS your lessons!
Love the bright red apple on your card - I sometimes get apples from students even though I teach high school. I could not go help my daughter move into college this year. I know how you feel - I've cried a bucket of tears. But she was so proud of how she fixed up her room at sorority by herself and it was so cute. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteCute card. Thanks for sharing your lessons learned. Thankfully, God never puts more on us than we can bear. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteOh, dear - and this card probably was a big reminder that she is leaving for school :( Those of us who have been through it, really do understand the pain and grief. Hope she stays in close touch with you daily <3
ReplyDeleteThat's a great embossing folder. Perfect for the school theme.
ReplyDeleteI like the embossing folder--perfect with these images.
ReplyDeleteWow I love the embossing your did. And the look of the apple. TFS AJ-
