This paper bag album uses the trees from A Walk in the Woods. It was my example for the girls in my Learners for Life group. They made paper album scrap books as our Tuesday night project. They loved this project. They especially loved the stamping. It was their first experience stamping.

I stamped the two side trees first, then I masked them and stamped the 3 tree. I then did the ink spray smash technique. After the paper dried, I stamped the trees again. I really like how this card turned out.

I love cardinals. I saw one just this morning in the tree by my house. I love their bright red feathers as well as their melodic call.

Layers of Color Scripture Sampler

I made this paper bag album as an example for the girls in my Learners for Life group. They made their own paper bag albums tonight. They loved how the wings on the butterfly moved like a real butterfly. They each had to put a butterfly on the outside of their albums. It was the first time they had ever stamped. I filled some of the pages of my albums with some of my favorite scriptures.

I love this little deer and polar bear. They are just so cute. I masked the polar bear and stamped the deer so that he stood behind. I punched little snowflakes and added pearls to the centers.

When I saw this poinesttia stamp, I knew I was going to make a porcelain pin. The gold centers were drops of hot glue that I embossed with gold ep. I found that when embossing dried hot glue, I had to work really fast so as not to melt the glue. I made a little origami box to hold the pin.

My big secret

My big secret... I get to be the guest designer for Layers of Color. My dream come true. I love Laura's images. This is a box for holding 3x3 note cards. Each card has a Layers of Color butterfly from Laura's Flutterescent set. The cards and the box were stenciled using my Layers of Color art stencil. I also used a Layers of Color flourish on the cards as the butterfly trail. Thank you Laura for this wonderful opportunity. I am so blessed.

Strawberry Split

This is the card I made for the Technique lover's challenge. The challenge was to take an image and split it or cut it up. I used the border stamp by Layers of Color. I cut it into 3 panels. On the center panel, I stamped the flower a couple of times and cut it out and layered them to make the flower dimensional, and added a pearl to the center. I stamped a Layers of Color butterfly as well. I scored the right hand side of the card 3 times (it is hard to see in the photo).

Snowman Country Sketch

This is a sneak peek of a soon to be released set by Mark's Finest Papers called Snowman country. My trees and snowman are popped up on dimensionals. I added glue and glitter to the trees.

Pumpkin time

For this card and tag, I stamped the pumpkin image from MFP's Thankful Mums and Pumpkin set on a thin piece of smooth cardboard. I colored them with my prisma colored pencils. When I went to blend them with baby oil, it soaked in a lot more than it usually does when I use cardstock, but it made a rich look.
This is for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge for a fall card.

My wonderful kids

I took this photo last night of my wonderful kids.

See you at the pole

It was cool and misting this morning as 15 middle school students met at the flag pole to pray for their school and for the community. I was so proud of them taking a stand for Christ!

Layers of Color butterfly tag

Today's technique lovers challenge was to do something with tags. I made a butterfly gift tag using Layer of Color - Flutterescent and Creative Florishes sets. I filled it with chocolate for my friend Ann who is having a birthday this week.

Ransom - Pun

This card combines 3 challenges... sketch, ways to use it and free for all. The ways to use it challenge this week was to make a ransom note like card. I used my computer to make the letters in all different fonts and sizes. The free for all challenge was to make a card that had a pun. I am planning on sending this card to my sister who has been very sick for awhile. I am going to write this in the inside " Let's leave on a vacation." It would be nice if the two of us could go on a vacation somewhere together, but she has 8 kids that she homeschools, and I have my 4 kids and job. Several months ago, we went on a virtual vacation to Hawaii. Who knows where we will go this time? I think it would be fun to go find a little bed and breakfast in the mountains where the two of us could sit and drink hot apple cider and enjoy the coming of Fall.

Butterfly blessings

I have been very sick this week with a horrible head cold. I haven't spent much time creating this week. One of my blessings this week was on Tuesday afternoon, it was sunny and warm, and the butterflies were congregating in the parking lot at work. My husband and I run a small trucking company, so big 18 wheelers and delicate little butterflies was quite the contrast. There were about 35 monarch butterflies flying and landing on the parking lot. Most of them were male. We had rain earlier in the week and there were still some rain puddles, and that is what I think drew them there. They would fly around and land for drinks of water. When they would land, they weren't the least concerned about me and my camera and I was able to get really close to them. Made it easy to get some great photos. I love butterflies and this blessing of the butterflies was such a wonderful gift from my loving heavenly father.

Sponged lace

The technique lovers challenge today wast to take lace and sponge ink over the top of it. When you lift up the lace, a lacy image is stenciled on the paper. I had lace that had really little holes, so it was really hard to get an image that I liked. I think I will try this technique again, with better lace.

Fall Butterflies

I took these photos of butterflies in the parking lot at work. The top one is a male monarch butterfly, the middle two photos are of a yellow sulphur butterfly and the bottom one is another male monarch butterfly.

This is the card I made using Stinky Situation. I made it for my friend who is a single mom raising 5 kids. This last week she was having trouble with deadbeat dads and girlfriends with ego problems. I stamed and cut the little skunks out and had them popping out of the windows. I made an envelope using the same dp that I used on the card.

This is what I created using the set Broom Rides. My daughter and I bought some pulled pork the other day for dinner. It was in a round black container. I knew immediately that it would be decorated with Speedy and his friends. I also made a set of Speedy "BINGO" cards. When my daughter saw the finished projects she said "Mom, that is so corny!" To which I replied"...Why YES! It is so Candy Corny" She just rolled her eyes at me. Gotta love teenagers.
Check out what the other Design Team members created.

Spooky sketch

I will be the first to admit that Halloween cards are hard for me to make. I don't celebrate Halloween, so it is hard to make cards to give away. I did enjoy how my sky looks in this card. This is a sneak peek of a set to be released next month by Mark's Finest Papers called Broom Rides. My oldest daughter and I both agreed that our favorite stamp in this set is the tree.

Sparkly Stained Glass Pumpkins

Yesterday's Technique lover's challenge was to use the sparkly stained glass technique, which is stamp acetate, apply glue and glitter. It has a great result, but it took forever to dry. I think that was in part to the high humidity of yesterday. I finally was able to finish and upload today. This is a sneek peek at a soon to be relased set by Mark's Finest Papers Thankful Mums and Pumpin.

Porcelain Paper Butterfly

I used the butterfly from Mark's Finest Papers -Daffodil and Anise set to make a porcelain paper butterfly pin. The inspiration challenge today was from Pink Taffy Designs. I was inspired by this mobile. This pin is different from others that I have made, because, I added spirals of wire and beads at the bottom of the pin.

Free for all 26

Today's free for all was to mix and match images and sentiments from different sets, by different companies. I used mostly images from a soon to be released set by Mark's Finest Papers- Autumn Fun. I used a the squirrel, elf leaf, little oak leaf, and basket of leaves. I used a flourish from Autumn leaves, leaves from Martha Stewart, and a sentiment from SU summer by the sea. I guess that that sentiment is a little off season, but I really like what it says.
Isn't this little squirrel just the cutest? Especially since he is a nice one who isn't going to try and steal birdseed from my feeders. I love to watch the squirrels as the jump from branch to branch, run circles around the trees, and especially when they do the tight rope walk across the streets on the telephone wires. This squirrel, the leaves and the basket of leafs is a sneak peek at a soon to be released set by Mark's Finest Papers called Autumn Fun. I used the leaves from the set to stamp with versamark ink on the panels as well as the envelope. I then did ink spray smash on them. When the paper dried, I used the same leaves to stamp again on the paper with brown ink. This photo doesn't do this card justice, because it was so hard to photograph the versamark leaves. You can seem in real life though. I masked the little squirrel and stamped the leaf basket. The leaf basket and squirrel were colored with prisma colored pencils.
