Why I hoard... I will admit it that I am a hoarder. I see pretty paper, I will pack it away, to use that magic SOMEDAY on a card. This last week, I spent 4 days going through those kinds of papers and scraps. I had this calendar page from November of 2005. For almost 9 years this has been sitting in my box of paper just waiting for the right card. To be truthful, I almost forgot I even had it.

But didn't it make the perfect backdrop for my takeout box and fortune cookies?

I replaced the drawing of the wire with a paper clip that I opened up. I cut slits in the fortune cookie and put strips of paper for the fortunes. I curved the fortune cookies around my fingers to make them look 3-d.

Making this card made me think of when my husband and I started dating. We use to go to a little Chinese restaurant called HIMS. It was a very small place just a couple of blocks from our college campus.

Check out what these ladies did with this set.

Come on back tomorrow for more creativity.

  10. I love this!!! Terrific idea to use a paper clip for the handle. I love how you have a little paper sentiment stuck in the fortune cookies. It is HARD not to hoard! I have quite a collection myself! I am going to want to hoard the flowers you gave me!!!
