Enjoy Today

A multi challenge-mixed media card. That is how I would describe this card.
The challenges?
The colors for the color challenge were So Saffron, Smokey Slate and Strawberry Slush. I got the colors as close as I could. The sentiment is from a Mark's Finest Papers set called FRIENDS I stamped the flower from SU set called Nature's Wonders, onto a piece of encyclopedia paper. The flower from that set is square. So to make it fill the circle. I used an ink pen to stipple to fill in the circle. To mask where the stamp ended and my ink pen stippling started, I took a piece of drywall tape and rubbed silver inka gold metallic rub. The flower was water colored and highlighted with prisma colored pencils. The bottom panel, I used a piece of gray cardstock that was as close to smoky slate as I could get. I embossed the left part of it with script embossing folder. I rubbed the silver inka gold metallic rub on it. The right part of the base, I put drywall tape and rubbed more silver inka gold. The next panel. I used a light gray and did embossing folder ink spray smash. I used 3 different gray colored markers. When I was done, I outlined the "squares" with a black ink pen. I highlighted some of the "squares" with a silver marker, and others were highlighted with white, dark gray, light gray, and light blue colored prisma colored pencils. I added twine to the top and the bottom by simply punching hole and putting the twine through and fastened to the back of the panel with tape. I did this because the dessert for the color challenge was to use twine. The flower is framed with black cardstock cut with a scalloped scissors and I added silver marker dots to the edges. I popped up the flower on dimensionals.

  2. Marilynn,
This is truly another piece of art. The flower on the printed page as well as the embossed script are my favorites BUT the whole card is a masterpiece. Your unique work always inspires me to follow my heart in creating. I am still in kindergarten but I'm so enjoying it and you have been such a wonderful role model. Thank you so much for taking time to post this absolutely beautiful work of art with us at Word Art Wednesday.
    Blessings,
