This morning, my son Joshua and I were driving along the Mississippi river.
It was hot and muggy. Even though it was early, it was well into the 90's.
I just had to take these photo, because even though it was
hot, it was a beautiful morning.
Mommy and Papa Geese.
When I went to take this photo,
all the little babies who had been
swimming right next to the shore
quickly swam under the lily pads.
(Correction... I mistakenly called these water lilies when in fact
they are lotus flowers. I learned that to be a water lily the leaves float
directly on the water, while lotus leaves are on stalks that are
above the surface of the water. I love learning new things. )

Summer on the Mississippi River.
OH what a lovely place! It's hard to imagine it being so hot, it looks cool and refreshing in the photos. I love the first photo the best!

Awe inspiring photos. Thank you for sharing. The river is so crystal clear & blue. The last time I was by the Mississippi she was brown and sludgy. Thank you for sharing the blueness. I have a special fondness for the Missouri & Mississippi since I have grown up and spent my adult life in Missouri.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some rain today.
Lovely photos MariLynn - I can't imagine the heat you are having as we are due for another frost tomorrow :-).
