WORDS of Wisdom about coffee

Another card for the Coffee Lover's Bloghop.

 

The Mixed Media Challenge (MIX-Ability) on SCS (splitcoast stampers)  this last week was to use WORDS of Wisdom.

I think the words from this STAMPlorations set are pretty good words of wisdom. I used

 ANYWHERE THERE IS COFFEE.

I paper pieced the cup and added cheesecloth and two types of burlap (plain and polka dotted) and I added some quilled roses.  Behind the cup is a watercolored background.

Blooming Jazz plaque STENCIL SUNDAY

 

Another Stencil Sunday.

I used this ARTplorations Stencil:

A BLOOM AND THREE BUDS

 

This last year, my husband I have done a lot of remodeling. Well, he has and I watched if that counts. We had some left over trim for the baseboards. I kept the scraps thinking I would someday turn them into little decorative plaques. Well, today was that someday. This last year was my son's last year of high school. I took the jazz sheet music that he auditioned for jazz band and watercolored it with markers. I then used the stencil to add white pant over the background. That gave it a more opaque look than if I had just watercolored the flowers. I then went over the white paint with watercolors. I outlined the flowers. I glued the sheet music to the trim. 

 I added cheesecloth, inka gold metallic rub, glitter and sequins to finish it off.

These dies made making this coffee tag so super easy.
I took a piece of glossy cardstock that I had tried doing a mixed media technique with alcohol inks.
I put it on the darker blue tag and done.

Mustard Seed Faith Challenges

 

Starting today some of my Sisters in Christ friends plus some new Sisters in Christ are being part of a new challenge blog. our hope is to encourage each other in our creative endeavors, to encourage each other in or walks of Faith and to proclaim and "make famous" Jesus, our Savior. The challenge this week was to make a card using  mustard color  I decided that I would go fancy mustard. Think grey poupon. That would be my butterflies as well as one of the layers and the small rectangle. Thankful to share the love of Christ with my sisters and you. Blessings.

I used this set to make my card. I stamped the pocket onto a scrap of paper that was laying on my desk. I added some cheesecloth. I used the "I LOVE YOU" sentiment on a piece of red cardstock that I cut just the word "love" out and made the little tag. The flowers were stamped and watercolored. I used burned glue to make the centers.

This was probably the most labor intensive of the tags that I made for this hop. I started with a white piece of cardstock. I ink sprayed smashed blue green and browns. I stamped it with crackle background. and the screen door background. I also added inka gold. I splattered black acrylic paint. I stamped the sentiment and added glitter to the heart. I finished it off with sequins, cheesecloth, a Prima butterfly and several ribbons.
