This last Saturday was my birthday. For a combined birthday and Mother's day gift, my family got me what they thought was a porch swing. Last night after everyone went to sleep, I crept out of the house to swing for awhile. As I sat on the swing, I realized what it really was. It was a TIME MACHINE. It took me back to when I was a little girl. I remember sitting and swinging on my Great-Grandma Ruth's porch swing while my mom, Grandma and Great Grandma were inside preparing the evening meal. The memories were so strong that it almost felt like they were there with me. I sat there for awhile feeling the cool evening breeze and listening to the frogs singing. Their voices were the only sounds that could be heard. I spent the time just enjoying doing NOTHING. I finally felt I should go inside and go to sleep when I heard the courthouse clock chime 11 o'clock. I didn't know I could hear the chimes at my house, because I don't think I've ever heard them from INSIDE the house.
So that is the story that inspired my card today. I used the MOJO Monday sketch
MOJO345. The other challenge this is for, is for the
TLC481 THAT'S NOT MY STYLE challenge. I really did try to do a CAS style card because it is the only style that I don't do alot of. As I sat and looked at my card I guess it really isn't too CAS after all. FAIL. Oh well, I tried. I guess you could say it is a lot flatter than my usual style. so maybe not so much a fail. I think my frog quartet looks cute. (The bottom frog is the lead tenor and I think the top frog is the bass.) The frogs and sentiment are from 2 MFP sets that will be released tomorrow during the hop. KISS ME and TREE FROGS. The background is a piece of black cardstock that I had splattered paint on. It made me think of the stars at night. I added sheet music to the side. I outlined the circles with white colored pencil. I used the white colored pencil for the music notes too.
