My oldest daughter is getting married in a month. She lived about 4 hours away from me. We were talking about how stressed she is getting as the wedding day gets closer and closer. She has always loved dalmatians. She has a collection of them. Every time I see a dalmatian I think of her, so when I saw this set, I knew the first card was going to be for her. I wanted her to know that I was thinking about her as she gets close to the wedding.
 I used the big background stamp from
 Mark's Finest Papers set called CRACKED HELLO. 
I stamped it with black stazon ink onto a piece of 
red cardstock. The sentiment is from another
Mark's Finest Paper set called SPRING THINGS. 
One of the nice things about using Mark's Finest Papers sets is 
that you can bend straight sentiments on your acrylic block
before stamping, and when you are done, they will
go back to being straight. I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock
and cut it out with deckle scissors.

I used two paper springs to make the image
stand out. I like using paper springs because they
give dimension to my cards, but they can be compressed
to fit inside an envelope for mailing.

This is the song that I was thinking about when I was making my card. I had to share.

 I used the flower from this set. I water colored it and did paper tole technique.

 
Usually I am intimidated by making bows. 
I watched this video on Youtube that showed how to 
tie a double bow. It was really easy to understand and do
I may be making more bows now.






Here is a card I made last week. I stamped the flower twice.
 One I kept whole and one I cut in half.

Are you looking for the "NOW SHOWING" stamps? I used the "film" stamp and made it into a trellis. I stamped the flowers from "IVY & BLOSSOMS" and the butterflies from "SCENIC SELECTIONS". I then masked them and stamped the film over them. I watercolored the flowers and butterflies. I added ribbon, paper doily, pearl stick pins and a little charm that says "BELIEVE".  I really like how this card turned out.


I love this song by JJ Heller called "I BELIEVE"

I made a 4x4 square card. You know that awesome moment when you see a set and you say to yourself... "I have some dp that will be perfect to go with it"... Yep, that is what happened with this card. I have had this dp for probably 7 years at least. It has been sitting in my drawer. I never could find the use for it until today! 
 (Of course since I'm not that organized, I had to go searching for it. I almost didn't find it. I am so glad that I did though because I really think it works with this set.)
I cut it so you could see the moon and the astronaut. I adhered it to the cardstock with squiggly sewing. I added 3 rhinestones.


I knew that I wanted my rocket ship to be flying. So I made a pop up card.
I stamped the sentiment and the planet on the bottom of the card and put the rocket at the top.




The sounds of space for my generation!

Boy Scouts of America, is very important to my family. I have been volunteering for 11 straight years. Both of my sons are Life Scouts working  towards EAGLE! This set was a lot of fun to work with. I thought it would be fun to make a little S'MORES treats for the boys in our troop for our Court of Honor in a couple of weeks.

Ever have a project in your mind that seemed like a good idea when you started it and it turned out not so great? Usually what I and others share on our blogs are just the successes. However, I thought I would show you my failure and how I fixed it. Below is my S'MORES treat card. It isn't terrible, but I didn't really account for the thickness of the marshmallows.  I thought stitching with my sewing machine would be a good way to close the card. Well, it didn't look that great.




So to fix my first project I decided to make a 2,5,7,9 box. You basically take a regular sheet of cardstock and score it at 2, 5,7, and 9. Then turn it and score at 2 and at 7. I closed my box with white twine. I decided to color the tents blue because our troop has blue tents. I masked the fire, so it could fit on the box, but I really do know better than to put a fire that close to the tents.(I had to put that there in case any of my fellow scouters sees this post.)


So that you could see the graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolates,
 I cut an oval window in the back of the box.

 This was our troop meeting the other night. The older boys were teaching the younger ones how to make a camp fire. My boys are the ones in the bright neon colored shirts. Joshua on left and Kaleb on right.


Yeah, the got it going!

Because I live near the Mississippi River, I see blue herons a lot. I love to watch them along the river banks. I made my card as a thank you card. As a boy scout leader we always are needing thank you cards to thank the volunteers who help make our boy scout program great.
