The mix-Ability challenge for SCS this week is to do scratch art. Where you laydown color using crayons or pastels and cover it with a dark paint and then scratch some of the paint away to reveal the colors underneath. I used pastels in blues and greens. Once I had completely covered the caredstock, I painted it with black acrylic paint. Once the paint was dry I embossed it with a music notes embossing folder and my cuttlebug. I then took sandpaper to scratch the paint off.
I added crimped tissue paper and cheesecloth for texture. I wanted my die cut bird and music note to stand out, so I put them on a scrap that I had left over from last week's mix challenge. After I had glued the bird and music note down, I splattered the whole card with white acrylic paint. I added a little golden rhinestone for the birds eye. I hand lettered the sentiment. This card is going to my friend Grace who found out last night that there is problem with her pregnancy and that she has to be bedridden for the remainder of the time. He due date is in Dec. That is a long time to have to be put up especially since she has 3 small preschool children. Will you join me in saying prayers for God's protection and provision for this little baby?
What a beautiful card MariLynn - love your background and how it has turned out. Yes I will pray for your friend. Please let us know how Grace progresses.
