Ephesians 2:10 - For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
That was the scripture that my Stampin' Sister in Christ, Jerusha, choose for this week's challenge. I was going to write a devotion about this scripture, but my kids were in an accident today that totaled the vehicle, I am thankful that I still have his masterpieces in my life. I just want to challenge everyone to tell those that you love, that you love them, because this life is so uncertain.
Jerusha's challenge is to:
Create something that reflects you - you are God's masterpiece!
How does this card reflect me? I embossed the background with a music embossing folder to reflect my love and passion for music. I play guitar and piano and sing. The butterfly is on the card because I love butterflies. My kids have laughed because I have stopped and picked up dead butterflies before because they are so pretty. The white paper lace, ribbon and rhinestones is because my style is a romantic style. I used 3 of my favorite techniques making this card. I ink spray smashed the background, I use paper tole on one of the poppies, and I used Aleene's burned tacky glue technique on the centers of the poppies.I used the poppies from a set that will be released by MFP this week. Lastly and perhaps the most important, is the color purple and the scripture. The scripture is a reminder that I belong to God, and the purple color, for royalty, reminds me that I am a daughter of the King.

I am reminded of Psalm 91 Marilynn:
ReplyDelete"He will give His angels charge over you..." Read the Psalm right through when you get a moment today Marilynn - it will bless your heart.
I am sorry to hear that the children were involved in an accident but rejoice with you that they survived.
We have an enemy of the soul but God is in command.
I'm rejoicing with you that your children are safe. Life is indeed fragile, and all the moments we hold with those we love are so precious. Thankfully, you will have more moments with them. What a beautiful card, beautifully reflecting you. Have a safe week!
ReplyDeleteOh, MariLynn! Praise the Lord your children are still with you! My husband's niece and her family were missinaries in Mali when all the coup happened this spring. They have since come home on temporary assignment to have their little boy (any day now). Her mother has been asked several times if she was scared for them. Her reply was that it's really no dangerous than getting in a car every day to drive somewhere. We are all in God's hands, to do His will and His good pleasure. He is the one who protects and sustains us....in EVERYTHING!
ReplyDeleteThis card is so very you, and so is the way you have shared your heart today.
God bless and keep you!
Stunning piece.

MariLynn, this is beautiful! I admire people who are musically talented and to incorporate that into your card is awesome. I love the bling on your card! That is a neat idea for the middle of the poppies! You're so creative!!! Have a blessed day! ~H
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful that your children are safe. There is nothing so precious to us as our children or family, unless it is the precious promises of God. Such a pretty card you've made MariLynn, and it does reflect you so well.
