STAMPlorations mixed media STENCIL SUNDAY God's faithfulness tag.

It is the last STENCIL SUNDAY
Come check out what all the other ladies on the design team have created. There are some really pretty projects this month. There is still time for you to join in on the Mixed media challenge.  You can still link up a non card project that uses at least one stencil.

My double tag was made to remind myself of God's faithfulness and provision.

ARTplorations: Plaid Maker Stencil
CUTplorations: Tags#1 nesting dies

I used the plaid maker stencil with distressed ink pads that I just rubbed over the stencil. I then used the dies to cut the two tags out. I stamped Great is thy Faithfulness on the smaller one. I only used the bottom portion of the stamp. I ran the bigger tag through my cuttlebug using a script embossing folder. I then took gold metallic rub and went over the raised areas. The bird was stamped and fussy cut out. I added the metallic rub to the bird. His eye is a teal glass bead. I added sequins. The really fun element is the used tea bags between the two tags. I think they add interest, texture and make it so the top tag doesn't get lost in the background of the larger tag.

Matthew 6:25-33New International Version (NIV)

Do Not Worry

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

MiXED Media coffee loving snowman

Quick post on my project so that I can get to commenting on all the other lovely creations for the Winter Coffee lover's Bloghop.  This mixed media wall hanging was done mostly free hand. The stamping that was done on it is the alphabet stamps on my faux scrabble tiles, the crackle background on my mixed media coffee cup and the coffee stains. The cup and the snowman including his nose and hat were all free hand drawn and fussy cut. The coffee cup paper was a page from an encyclopedia that I took white acrylic paint and painted smears of paint to cover some of the words. Then I watercolored the cup with blue and teal water color paint. I then stamped a crackled background stamp with blue ink on top of that. Then I free hand cut out the cup and outlined it with a sharpie marker. I then stamped the whole cup with my versamark ink pad and embossed with UTEE and then I fussy cut it out. I cut the cup at the top so that my snowman could slide into the cup.
The snowman was fussy cut and dry embossed on white cardstock. I went over the embossed areas with distressed antique linen ink. The eyes were punched out of black cardstock. The nose was free hand cut and I used white colored pencils to make circular lines on it. The hat was free hand cut from black cardstock. I used gold metallic rub on hat as well as die cut leaves and little berries made from flower stamens that I colored with a red sharpie marker. The buttons on my snowman were little pearls that I colored black with a black sharpie. The arms were die cut from toilet paper rolls. The faux scrabble tiles were cut from a box. I stamped the letters using black stazon ink. I took a black pen and drew little stitched lines around the edges. I added glitter and pearls to the punched out snowflakes. I added brads,  and two types of twine.

I made this mixed media sampler wall hanger to show different types of media that people probably have in their craft rooms that they could used to make a mixed media project. Come check out my MIX-ABILITY challenge on Splitcoast Stampers.

The Frilly and Funky Challenge is to make a project about most memorable gift. Well, I used my most memorable gift on my wall hanging. When my kids were in high school, money was really super tight. My kids were given some money to buy themselves something. They got together and bought me a cuttlebug. I was the only one who got a physical gift that year. It has been used a lot for the past 8 years. I hope it lasts a long time to come. The memory of this gift and my kids generous and selfless giving will last a lot longer.

Snowman Cocoa Tag

winter hop square with dates
Happy Cocoa Day .

I made this cocoa project for the Winter Coffee Lover's Bloghop.

I made a little snowman tag, that can be an ornament after the hot chocolate is gone.

The snowman, and his hat were free hand cut. Yep, he is all my handywork. I embossed the snowman and distressed with antique linen distress ink. I punched eyes out of black cardstock. I free hand cut a carrot nose out of orange cardstock and I used a white colored pencil to make the lines on the carrot. I used a thin black marker to make his smile. I die cut the "holly" leaves and branches. The berries were flower stamens, that I colored with a red sharpie marker. I stamped and fussy cut the cup and embossed the snowflake on the cup.

The ribbon and thread started out different colors. The ribbon was pink and the thread white. I colored them with the red sharpie marker.

The plaid background was made using STAMPloration's ARTplorations Plaid maker stencil.

I used the stencil and distressed inks to make the plaid that you can see in this next photo.

I have three used tea bags on this tag. Two were plain, but on one I used mahogany distressed ink. I glued the three tea bags between the top and bottom layers of the tag. I thought they made the little cup stand out The snowman is popped up on paper springs to give him dimension.

I finished the tag off with three glittery snowflakes, twine, silver ribbon and a packet of hot cocoa.
My oldest daughter loves hot chocolate and today just happens to be her birthday. Coincidence? This little tag is going to her house.

Growing in Unity gals blog hop - Floral tag

If you came here from my dear friend Angela's blog you are at the right spot. If not you might want to go to the beginning of the Unity Blog Hop.
 The list is below

For my project I used 2 different Kit of the Month
and

Everyday Fairytale {kom 12/12}

I stamped the flowers on dp

I stamped the flower again on white cardstock.
I embossed the centers with gold embossing powder.

Then I fussy cut the flowers out.

I water colored the leaves with green.

I decided to shape the flowers and since I didn't want the brown to show I stamped the flowers and leaves again on white and cut them out and glued them to the base.

I used a die from STAMPlorations to cut out the tag.
I glued the leaves down.

After I shaped the flowers I added glitter to them.
I also added glue and red marker to the berries.

The finished tag has a silk ribbon bow.
There is a used  tea bag in between the top tag
and the bottom tag

I hope you were inspired by my tag.

Time now to hop to Amanda's blog

Winters Coffee Lovers Bloghop double coffee tag with a touch of silver

For this double tag, I used CUTplorations TAG O'COFFEE DIE

I cut the top tag out of paper that had vintage look. I stamped the Eiffel Tower using Unity's Everyday Fairytale set. I also stamped trees and reindeer using

I paper pieced an old MFP set called Oh Beans, fussy cut and popped up for dimension. Between the top and bottom tag I glued a used tea bag. I ran the tea bag and bottom tag through my cuttlebug using a script embossing folder. I then used metallic rub to add a touch of silver to the raised script. I finished this double tag with twine and sequins.

Winter Coffee Lovers Bloghop puzzle double tags

For these three tags, I cut out two tags for each "double tag" using

The top tags were cut from a distressed designer paper that I stamped coffee rings onto. The bottom tags were cut from plain kraft cardstock. I paper pieced and cut out cups using an old MFP set called Oh Beans. I used the same dp to cover a puzzle piece. Ribbons, and Sentiments are a little different on each card. On the bottom tags, I stamped the Eifel tower from Unity's Everyday Fairytale set. The snowflakes are a little different on each double tag, but all have little sequins in the centers.

Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop Cafe Winter Mug

I made this CAFE double tag. The Eifel tower is from Unity's Everyday Fairytale set.

The giant mug and delicate snowflakes is from a STAMPlorations set called

The double tags (one is partially hidden by the giant mug) were made using CUTplorations

I heat embossed the snowflakes with silver embossing powder. I really like how the little red sequins look in the centers of the snowflakes.

to cut out the tags  Just under the first tag is a flattened used tea bag on top of a layer of cheese cloth. They both add dimension and texture to my tag.
I have an old jigsaw puzzle that was missing a few pieces. It is fun to cover the pieces of the puzzle with matching designer paper to use as an embellishment. I also used a snowflake die and faux scrabble tiles along with ribbon and twine to finish off this tag.
