I dreamed a dream ...

I wonder what normal people dream about. I dream about making cards. Well after yesterday's faux burned edges I was thinking about burned edges and I thought of the old west. I dreamed about a card with barbed wire and HB as a brand and faux burned edges. I could hardly sleep after having the dream becuase I wanted to get to my stamping supplies and try to create it.

I was happy that Kelly's choices of colors worked well with the idea that was in my head.

I used the faux burned edges on my top panel. I freehand doodled the barbed wire. I also drew my HB brand. I stamped the bear twice, colored with prisma colored pencils and have him up on dimensionals. I paper pieced his bandana with a piece of faux bandana scrap. I used faux denim on the panel.

I've seen the light too!

My friend Cindy, aka Mothermark had a Tuesday Teapot Challenge on her blog. This week she had a little teapot night light. I was drawn to the little swirly lines on the light. I had also been thinking for several days how to do the Stampinb's challenge. Joanne's challenge was to use dry and heat embossing on a card. I decided that I would dry emboss swirly lines like the teapot. I freehand cut a swirly line. I placed my cardstock on a piece of foam. I used my embossing stylus to trace along the swirly line on the back of the card front. After I repeated the embossed lines, I flipped the card back over and I swiped over the embossed lines with my white craft ink. I then used an embossing pen and gold ep to heat emboss the edges of the card and the sentiment panel. The flowers were stickers that I got from the dollar store. I just had to add a butterfly.I was thinking how bugs are drawn to the light. My butterfly couldn't help itself. The light was just too hard to resist. I was also thinking about Cindy's light. She has such a sweet, creative spirit that we are all drawn into following her.

TLC227 ~Faux burned edges

I printed sheet music onto a piece of parchment paper. I tore the edges to give it an uneven edge. I used a sponge to add brown ink and then black ink to the edges.

With the burned edges, I was thinking about what would be important enough to reach into a fire to rescue. I first thought of photos of my kids. Then I thought of a sheet of music.

I stamped the butterfly twice. I colored one with my prisma colored pencils and then cut it out. I layered it on top of the first butterfly. I stamped a flourish for the butterflies trail. I printed the sentiment from my computer. I added twine and a rhinestone brad to finish this card.

My new blog

For a long time I have read and enjoyed other blogs. I kept saying someday... well someday is now. I love stamps, paper, markers, colored pencils... I love paper crafting. I also love taking photos. I love sharing what I create. I hope what I share will inspire you.
