I liked my first love you to the moon and back card for this week's mix-ability challenge celebrating Apollo 11. But I wanted to see if I could make another one, having the hand lettered sentiment looking like I had pictured it in my head.
Here is the brayer cleaning paper I started with.
One thing I did differently on this card. I didn't mask the base. I covered the whole base with teal, purple and black water color paint.
I traced the circle with a pencil and painted it with white acrylic. I also added white and black splatters.
Next I used gray and gray/blue water color paint to paint the shadows and used a white gel pen to make the craters.
/Added some rhinestone stars and some gel pen stars and wrote the sentiment. It is better than the first one but still needed some work. I should have started just a little bit to the left so I would have had room to get the sentiment in without having to dip down. as much as I did.
I am sharing this card with Words 2 Craft by # 67 challenge
Great work! I love this card. Thank you for sharing your process. :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Vonalda.
DeleteLoving these projects MariLynn - I understand what you mean about the placement of the sentiment, but this journey is all about learning :)

Thanks. I usually use a pencil to put the sentiment down. This helps with placement. Then I go over it with a pen but this time the background was so dark I just decided to write and almost ran out of room.
DeleteSo beautiful and I love the colors of the galaxy sky.
