When I saw that the challenge for SCS for the
Ways to Use it Challenge 477 was to use cork. I really had to get my thinking cap on. I thought about doing faux cork.technique, and one of these days I am going to have to try it. I did find some corkboard. What I pictured in my mind was a cork flower with a twine flower on top of it with burlap. Quite rustic. However, my corkboard had a different idea in mind. It was really thick and wasn't cutting well. I was able to cut it down and make little circles for the centers of the flowers. I watercolored the chickadee and blossoms on watercolor paper and cut them out. I added the twine and burlap. I really like how this card turned out, even if it is totally different than what I had in mind when I started out.
It is beautiful. Love every aspect of it. Going in my CASE file.
ReplyDeleteThe end result is so sweet MariLynn - love that you persevered and made this beauty, even if the cork did not co-operate.
