Casing another artist's cards is not something that I normally do. Partly because my style is unique and eclectic and I usually had to do my own thing. However, this week's Our Daily Bread Designs challenge was to do just that. We were to pick a card artists and CASE one of their cards. The artist that I picked, I admire for more than just her artistry. I admire the kind of person she is. She is a genuine Christ follower. I am blessed to call her my friend. I picked THIS card by my friend Grace.
To make the hearts I took the cardboard from a cereal box. (Blueberry Morning- my son's favorite) I did faux barn board technique with white glue and white and cream acrylic paint. While the glue was drying I thought I would put a piece of lace and some ric rac into the glue. When the glue dried, I took versamark ink and UTEE. I was going for a cracked glass look, but the cardboard backing made it so it would not crack.
On Grace's card she used an authentic old post card. I on the other hand have a very new one. In fact before today it was a piece of cardstock. I used DAYDREAM DESIGNS SENDING YOU LOVE OUTLINE digital image
I am going to enter this card in the Word Art Wednesday challenge.
