This card was way out of my comfort zone. I decided not to color at all but to paper piece the present. I doodled and stamped the birthday sentiment to make the background. Not my usual style. I had a picture in my mind of a project I wanted to do, but I am still figuring out how to do it. I wanted to cut the top of the box and have a hidden panel that when you lifted the lid you could read the sentiment. If I ever figure out how to do that, I will share that card at that time.

ReplyDeleteGreat doodles and I like how you created your own Bday DP by stamping! Fun card and fun placement of the DP behind the present!
ReplyDeleteA pretty card and I like the paper piecing of the present. Great paper you used for it.

It always good to try something new - nice result.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it is good to get out of our comfort zone - it is easier in card making than others areas of life I feel! Nice result and I would like to see the version in your head if it makes it to paper!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see some inspirational scripture in addition to your creativeness! Beautiful mellow colouring and excellent paper piecing! I think to take the lid off the box you would need to adhere the box as a 'pocket' to your card front and either hinge the lid with a brad and sentiment inside or make the lid into a flap with the sentiment attached to its inside. Thus when you pull the lid flap up the sentiment is pulled up with it. No, that' as clear a mud isn't it?....!!! Bonne chance!
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful
