Growing in Unity Day 2 - Earth has music

Welcome to Day two of my sharing for Growing in Unity.
I started today's project with a piece of cardstock that I mono printed using my gel plate. I loved the colors and the texture (from bubble wrap).

I used black stazon ink and:

Allow Yourself

I painted the flower side and the butterfly's dots with white acrylic paint.

Then I watercolored the butterfly side. I also started watercoloring the flowers with a bit of pale yellow.

How it looked when I had finished watercoloring the flowers. I added some more yellow, red and peach watercoloring.

 The watercoloring left the butterfly feeling a little washed out, so I took a black ink pen and went over the lines. I added a white highlight to the butterfly's body with a white gel pen.

I then masked the butterfly

I stamped the music score from
Unity Stamp
Forget the Past {smak 11/16}

I stamped the sentiment from this kit, but it didn't fit. I cut each word and placed them around the edge of the butterfly. I took my black ink pen and went around the squares. I think cutting the sentiment up goes with the mixed media feel of the card.

I hope that you enjoyed today's project. Come back tomorrow for more. Don't forget to leave a comment to have a chance to win the grab bag of stamps prize.

  7. The cards are beautiful! My favorite is the one with the music background. Your background doesn't even look like bubble wrap when using the gel plate method. Those cards are very pretty.
