For my card I used MFP set - Island Life
I tried a new technique called coffee painting, where you actually paint with coffee. I stamped the image with Vintage Photo distress ink. I then started painting. I used white prisma colored pencil on left side of the light house tower and on the sails of the boat. I wanted to make sure that they stayed white and I was hoping the wax from the pencil would resist the coffee.
What I learned from trying this technique, is I lack patience. To get shading, I had to add layer upon layer drying in between each layer.
When I do this technique again, I will have several projects going at once so I can rotate between the different ones while the coffee dries.
I stamped this as a sample for this week's splitcoaststampers mixability challenge. With the ink, coffee and colored pencil, that would have been 3 different mediums, but I decided to add more.
I decided to add black ink pen. I just traced over the lines from the stamp, but I didn't do everyone.
I like the way that one step made it look. Probably the most CAS mixed media card I have ever made. It was fun to try this new technique.
