MiXED Media coffee loving snowman

Quick post on my project so that I can get to commenting on all the other lovely creations for the Winter Coffee lover's Bloghop.  This mixed media wall hanging was done mostly free hand. The stamping that was done on it is the alphabet stamps on my faux scrabble tiles, the crackle background on my mixed media coffee cup and the coffee stains. The cup and the snowman including his nose and hat were all free hand drawn and fussy cut. The coffee cup paper was a page from an encyclopedia that I took white acrylic paint and painted smears of paint to cover some of the words. Then I watercolored the cup with blue and teal water color paint. I then stamped a crackled background stamp with blue ink on top of that. Then I free hand cut out the cup and outlined it with a sharpie marker. I then stamped the whole cup with my versamark ink pad and embossed with UTEE and then I fussy cut it out. I cut the cup at the top so that my snowman could slide into the cup.
The snowman was fussy cut and dry embossed on white cardstock. I went over the embossed areas with distressed antique linen ink. The eyes were punched out of black cardstock. The nose was free hand cut and I used white colored pencils to make circular lines on it. The hat was free hand cut from black cardstock. I used gold metallic rub on hat as well as die cut leaves and little berries made from flower stamens that I colored with a red sharpie marker. The buttons on my snowman were little pearls that I colored black with a black sharpie. The arms were die cut from toilet paper rolls. The faux scrabble tiles were cut from a box. I stamped the letters using black stazon ink. I took a black pen and drew little stitched lines around the edges. I added glitter and pearls to the punched out snowflakes. I added brads,  and two types of twine.

I made this mixed media sampler wall hanger to show different types of media that people probably have in their craft rooms that they could used to make a mixed media project. Come check out my MIX-ABILITY challenge on Splitcoast Stampers.

The Frilly and Funky Challenge is to make a project about most memorable gift. Well, I used my most memorable gift on my wall hanging. When my kids were in high school, money was really super tight. My kids were given some money to buy themselves something. They got together and bought me a cuttlebug. I was the only one who got a physical gift that year. It has been used a lot for the past 8 years. I hope it lasts a long time to come. The memory of this gift and my kids generous and selfless giving will last a lot longer.
