Sympathy card

This last week I had a lot of requests for certain types of cards. I had graduation, birthday, wedding, baby cards and a sympathy card to make. It is so much easier for me to make cards for happy occasions. I kept putting off making a sympathy card, but I knew I had to just do it. I used MOJO Monday sketch. 449  to make my card. I used UNITY - Here today here tomorrow set (butterfly) and VERVE -Forever in our hearts.  I substituted the butterfly for the circle on the layout. I took the square panel and covered it with lace and burlap. The long vertical panel in the sketch, I used gold netting ribbon. I put a layer of cheesecloth over all of that. I embossed a piece of tea stained cardstock and added gold metallic rub to the raised areas. I added pearls and brads to finish up my card.  I am sharing this card with

  2. What a lovely card MariLynn - the butterfly is gorgeous against the gold and brown toned background, and I am sure it will bring comfort to the recipient. I agree that sympathy cards are not easy to make.
