Cracked Glass vintage card

I printed distressed script onto a sheet of white cardstock. I used black stazon to add butterflies, flowers and a pocket watch to each panel. Then I used distress ink to "color" the image. I used a die to cut out one of the butterflies. I did cracked glass technique to the panel.

This is how the cracked glass looked with brown ink in the cracks. I didn't think the cracks showed up very much.

My friend Pam said to use black ink. I was hesitant because I was afraid that I would mess it up, but I went ahead and tried it. Now you can see the cracks better.

Here is my finished card.

MPC- Graphic 45 challenge

The ladies at Mountain Plains Crafters are having a fun challenge today. We are all using Graphic 45 paper. The addition challenge was to use die cuts and metal. There is going to be a prize for one of the people leaving comments on the MPC post.

For one of my projects I used Graphic 45 ABC Primer Deluxe Collector's Edition.

I started with a piece of wood from
I spray painted it black.

I cut out the central image.

I took a black sharpie marker and colored to the edges.

I glued the panel to the wood. I added die cut chipboard. I added "A,B,C" and "1, 2, 3" to one side
and I put "Mrs  Moore" to the other side. This is going to be a Christmas gift for my daughter Kristina. She is getting ready next month to start her student teaching. She recently got engaged. So I put what her married name will be. She will be graduating in May with a degree in literature, so this was perfect for her. I can see this someday hanging in her classroom.

I used copper inka gold metallic rub around the edges.

My second project is a mini album. I thought it would be fun to make a pocket album for her to hold her memories of her student teaching.

I used the Graphic 45 paper, black cardstock and cut envelopes (for the pockets)

I punched holes in the pockets. I put two rings through the holes.
I added black and copper ribbons to the top ring. I also added copper chain, keys, a jewel and little copper ruler.

You can see inside one of the pockets here.

Thanks for making it all the way through my really long post. I appreciate the comments left on my blog, but make sure you leave a comment on the MPC blog to win the prize.

Holiday Coffeelover's Bloghop - Pam's Card

For the Holiday Coffeelover's bloghop, I made an album and cards in honor of my friends at Mountain Plains Crafters.

I saved the card in honor of my friend Pam for last. She is one of my dearest friends. Who says you can't have long distance friendships that started online. We got to know eachother when our daughters started college. Now both of our daughters are getting ready to start their last semester of college. In that short amount of time, Pam has become one of my forever friends. I love you Pam. The little heart and down to earth burlap raffia and cheesecloth, combined with the gold made me think how you shine in your everyday life. You are one of my biggest supporters Here is to many, many, many more years of friendship. And one day we will get together in real life and eat Mexican food, drink coffee, eat chocolate desserts and craft the day away.

Holiday Coffeelover's Bloghop - Terri's card

For the Holiday Coffeelover's Bloghop, I made an advent like album and cards in honor of my Mountain Plains Crafters sisters and friends.

This card is in honor of my friend Terri. I watercolored this stacked cup image and added gold metallic rub and gold sequins. It made me think of Terri, because she is such a busy lady. She has so many irons in the fire. I imagine she would have lots of cups of coffee a day and still manage to keep everything in balance. Love you Terri. You are an amazing lady!

Holiday Coffeelover's Bloghop - Jennifer's card

Holiday Coffeelover's bloghop is a lot of fun. I hope you are enjoying hopping.

For the hop I made an advent like album with cards in honor of my friends at Mountains Plains Crafters. This card is in honor of my friend Jennifer. She is a very busy lady. I would hate for her to run out of coffee, so I made her one with a whole canister of coffee. I watercolored the canister and splattered paint, I added gold shimmer spray. I doodled around the edges. I added stickers for the 25 in honor of Christmas day.

Holiday Coffeelover's bloghop- Sheryl's card

Holiday Coffeelover's Bloghop is going to be so much fun.
I made an advent like album with little cards that go in the pockets. Each card, was made in honor of one of my good crafting friends at Mountain Plains Crafters.

This card is in honor of my friend Sheryl. I heat embossed the snowflake , sprayed the background with gold shimmer spray. I added cheesecloth and sequins. Sheryl has a great sense of humor. The irony of a HEAT embossed SNOWFLAKE made me think of her.

Holiday coffeelover's bloghop - Debra's card

Today the Holiday Coffeelover's Bloghop starts.

I made a little advent like envelope album. I also made coffee cards in honor of my friends and coffeeloving stamping sisters at Mountain Plains Crafters.

This card is in honor of my friend Debra. Debra has had a rough year physically, but you would never know it. She never complains. She is always thinking of ways to make others happy. She is a blessing in my life. So here's to you Debra. I picked this one for you because of the heart. You have such a big tender heart.

Holiday Coffeelover's Bloghop - Advent envelope album with card in honor of Paula

Holiday Coffee Lover's Bloghop starts today. I can't believe that this is the 6th coffee lover's hop. There have been lots of great inspiration every time. I am sure this time will be no exception.

The splitcoaststampers MIXABILTY challenge 150 is to make a mixed media project that reminds you of ADVENT. I went with an envelope album with little pockets that could hold surprises.

The little surprises inside my pockets... little coffee cards. One in honor of my stamping sisters at Mountain Plains Crafters. These ladies are great friends and each one is such a talented crafter. The first coffee card is in honor of my friend Paula. It has sequins, a water colored cup that I added gold shimmer spray, music stickers, and gold metallic rub. My friend Paula is not only a crafter, she is a band mom of two super talented boys. That is why her card has music on it.
