Adornit - Mountain Plains Crafters Blog Hop

Welcome to the Adornit and
 Mountain Plains Crafters Blog Hop!
We're featuring the brand new
which include themes for Halloween, Christmas, Adventure, Critters, Faith and more; 18 brand new pages to color with multiple images on each sheet. They're perfect for watercoloring, markers, colored pencils and more. Use them in multiple ways - cardmaking, scrapbooking, treat boxes, tags..... you're only limited by your imagination!

IT'S a lot of fun to sit and color. My favorite way to color is to use crayola markers. However I don't use markers the way most people do.  IT'S a lot more fun to do it the way I do it. I take an acetate folder and I scribble on the folder with the markers. I spray a puddle of water onto the the folder and I paint with the marker's inks. IT'S cheap and it gives me quite a lot of colors to start with. By painting with the marker ink IT'S easy to blend the colors.

My first project was from the
RAINBOWS PAINTABLE sheet.

Here is a photo showing the marker scribbles, the water and the paint brush I used

I colored the backgrounds first and let them dry before I painted the inside images.

When coloring the backgrounds I used a color wheel and kept in my mind the color that I wanted the images to be and tried to use complimentary colors.

You can see a couple of places where the color tried to escape the lines. This was partly due to the fact that my puppy dog jumped into my lap while I was coloring. Silly puppy. I wasn't too concerned about that because I knew I wanted to add some copper and gold to my card.

Both of these products are very similar. They add such a cool metallic look. I just dipped my paint brush in water and then into the metallic rubs and painted with the copper and gold.

Here  you can see the gold metallic rub that I put between the rectangles as well as accents on the heart.

I used a bamboo skewer to dip into white acrylic paint to add dots.

I added glue and glitter. to make it sparkle. You can see the sparkle here:

Here is the finished card. I made it into an easel card.

Here are 2 more cards that I made.

For this card I used the FAITH PAINTABLE sheet

For this card I used  the

I used this week's mojo sketch for this card.

If you  are playing along with the hop you need to collect words along the way. IT'S not hard to figure out what my word is. However, if you really need a clue my word is actually a contraction of 2 words-
It and Is.

Thanks for reading my long post.

Next stop on the hop is my friend
