Let's get started !!
Here's the Design Team

Innovative, creative, out of the box....all words that are fun to hear about your artwork. I am the hostess for this week's mixed media challenge at Splitcoaststampers. MIX126
I wanted my challenge everyone to say "What if?"  I saw these salt painting ideas. I thought "What if... I used white glue instead of a glue stick.?"\

Salt painting idea 1

Well, I tried and found out. It was super fun to add the colored water to the salt, but after it dried, I had huge clumps of the colored salt fall off the cardstock. I tried it several times, and each time it didn't work. It was fun to see the salt change colors, but each time when the glue dried, it kept falling off. YES, I fail. Not every time I try something new does it work. But I didn't give up.

So I tried "What if?" again. I thought "What if I sealed it after it dried?" I thought I wonder... I wonder if I used  a sealant over the glue. I tried covering it with clear fingernail polish.
And guess what. It worked. It gave my flower pot such an interesting texture.  I added gold paint to the pot after the fingernail polish dried.

I would love it if you joined me in thinking "What if?"

  2. Fabulous! I like what if ideas because to me it is like what I like to say....there are no mistakes in stamping just happy accidents. it's fun to discover things that way.
