For God so loved the world...

My favorite way to say VALENTINE is with John 3:16
I have liked it ever since I saw it done this way about 8 years ago.
I think it goes really well with the card I made today for the MIX55 challenge on SCS.
I made made this faux barn board piece last week using blues, greens and shoe polish. When I was done it reminded me of the photos of the earth taken from space.

I decided to make a heart for my clear element for the challenge. I took a piece of acetate and ran it through my cuttlebug.I used the script embossing folder. I liked how it looked, but thought I would add just a little bit MORE. so I took my sharpie copper marker and drew over the raised parts and around the edges of the heart. I decided to use the MOJO332 sketch so I gathered the rest of these embellishments to make my card.
I was in the process of putting the card together when I decided that the turquoise ribbon that I had picked wasn't what I wanted to use. It was a little too bright and drew my eye right there without seeing the REST of the card, so I decided to switch it out for a piece of  black and white gingham ribbon.
I wanted to have a key charm, but it wasn't in silver so I colored it with the sharpie marker. I decided it needed other charms so I colored a heart and a paper fastener that I have had in my stash of stuff for years. I also colored some beads and added some turquoise beads.

The biggest challenge when working with a clear element is how to attach it to the card. I decided to use hot glue underneath where the ribbon would hid it. I wanted the heart to really stand out so I put a lot of glue and held it high off of the card until it cooled. This next photo shows how it has dimension.
The finished card.

I am going to share this with the Word Art Wednesday challenge.
