Joyful new year!

As the year 2012 winds down, we look at the new year with hope and anticipation. We wish each other a
"Happy New Year!"  We all want to be happy don't we? Problem is that we tie our Happiness to our circumstances. If I had just a little more money I would be happy. If I had a better job, I would be happy. If I felt better, I would be happy.... the list could go on. If we do achieve happiness it doesn't last for long. Think of that perfect Christmas gift that you got your kids and now just a couple of days after Christmas, they aren't happy with it. What I am striving for this coming new year is JOY. Joy and happiness are the same thing aren't they? I don't think so.  Love JOY, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self control. these are the fruit of the Spirit.  Joy comes from having the Holy Spirit working in your life.  I heard it explained a long time ago that JOY stood for J-esus, O-thers, Y-ourself. and that if you put Jesus first in your life, then others then yourself, that you will have joy.

The paper on my card is a digital paper from myDaydream Designs called HAPPY NEW YEAR PAPER PACK. The little clock and baby new year is from myDaydream Designs called HAPPY NEW YEAR COLORED DIGI SET.

I used the Sweet Stop Sketch SSS190 for the layout. I used my sewing machine to sew the card together. I added a little green rhinestone to go at the 12 for midnight. The rest of the numbers have a little diamond rhinestone .

I wish you JOY for the new year to come!!!!

  3. Absolutely fabulous....and as I read your blurb, I got goosebumps. MacKenna has been wanting a tattoo...Now I am not entirely against them, I just would want something I am certain I wouldn't get tired of. We've discussed doing a SMALL one that all 4 of us could do. Never in agreement, but yesterday I told the girls that I would like the word JOY! How weird is that? I think we think along the same wave length, my friend. Again, small is the operative word.

  5. Thank you MariLynn - I was wondering about a 'motivational word' for the year, and as soon as I saw Joy I know that would be it!
