Stamping Sisters in Christ 121

Phillippians 2:3-4 "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others."

That is the scripture that my sister Peggysue picked for this week. She also challenged us to make a THINKING OF YOU card.

The start of a new year should have meant happy, easy times for my friends at my church. That was not the case for my friends Dean and Becky. They lost their 6 month old granddaughter in a fire this last week. Sometimes there are no words to say. No words will bring them peace, or healing, only God can give them that. It is all I can do to come along side and tell them that I am thinking of them, that I love them, and that I am praying for them.

When Peggysue, picked her challenge to make a THINKING OF YOU card, I had no idea that I would be making a sympathy - thinking of you card. This life is short and it is unpredictable. Let the people you love know that you love them and that you are thinking of them. You may not get another chance.

I am so bad about making cards and them sitting on my desk until the moment has passed. My challenge to myself is to mail the cards this week as the Holy Spirit brings those people to my mind, and to not procrastinate.

  3. Marilynn, that is definately one of my crafting resolutions this year... to actually get cards mailed out (I'm so bad at that too).

You're in my heart and prayers today, and also praying for all those in your church, especially the grandparents/family of li'l 6 mo. old. I'm sure today's service will be hard, but a wonderful opportunity to witness to the unsaved as well. You'll be a blessing as you lead worship and don't worry about anything. ((HUGS))

  4. MariLynn your card is so peaceful and beautiful... and it shows your heart! In spite of no words to speak, this card will bless your friends as they grieve the loss of this precious child. Just being there for them, letting them know you care and are praying for them will bring great comfort. As Christians, we don't grieve as those who have no hope. I see Jesus holding this precious baby, kissing her little cheeks and comforting her... she is in a wonderful place! This knowledge will bring comfort, even though there will be a great void left behind. Thinking of you and praying for you this week as you go through some very difficult times sweet friend!!!
    hugs,
    Grace

  9. Such a beautiful card, MariLynn!! I can't say any more than what has already been said...except to rest in the fact that God has given grace to those for their loss and you can be free to just love them. Your flowers are beautiful!
