MFP blog hop

Because we have so many on the DT. we take turns being on the hop. Today isn't my day, but I just loved this set and wanted to share anyway. If you want you can find the list for the hop below. This gift tag was one I made just messing around and I love how it turned out. I stamped the butterfly on a piece of scrap paper. I colored the butterfly with prisma colored pencils. I then W.I.S.H.ed it with the blues and greens. I stuck some cheap thread that I bought at Walmart in the ink and dyed it. The thread is really thick thread that is 26% cotton. When the card and thread were wet, I decided to DRY them with my heat gun. I have done this lots of times. The card dried fast and when I went to dry the thread I had what I call an AH HA moment. A moment when something happens that I hadn't expected but love the result. The polyester in the thread when hit with the heat gun melted. It made the thread shrink up and the result made me think of hand woven fibers. It didn't even resemble the thread that it started out.
